The Circle template

The Circle template

Designing from Different Shapes - The Circle template - The Round circle, the Square shape and the Triangle

This next series is based on 3 objects that when you look around you everything is basically in these 3 shapes or variations of them these shapes are:   The Round circle, the Square shape and the Triangle.
Note that the shapes can be of different sizes and are very simple.

The Round circle, the Square shape and the Triangle

This for me is almost divine. Being a Believer in a creator and learning about the Trinity at a very early age it seems that the creator got a lot of mileage out of these 3 shapes.

Lets expand on these now.
We will start with simple pencil drawings and how I lay them out. Now the first photo of this drawing was done with a circle template. ( Today I forgot my glasses and will try to cover this short subject as best I can somewhat short on my vision.) lets start Below is the photo using a Timely Number T-89M.
Vision wasn't to important using this template. Now let's try it a different way.

Timely Number T-89M - circle templates, tools to aids with the design

*** It is very important to have your pencil tip very sharp to draw

Imagine you have no template and you want to make a perfect circle what would you do?
He is my approach to this problem.
I'll try to photograph it step by step.
First I am folding a piece of tracing paper into 8ths and then I will do 16ths.
Folding tracing paper to create the guidelines
Above have you noticed the dots on the tracing paper these were placed on each fold as I added addition folded. The diameter of your circle can be at random or if you happen to have a ruler as I had you can Sellect the diameter you want let's use 40 mm. (40 millimeters).

Making the circle without the circle templates.

Now let's start the process of doing a circle with making an error.

1 ) Using the smallest division of the segment folds draw a slight arc.
2 ) Then simply by folding and rubbing off the paper with burnishing tool or Burnish with your finger nail VDO here
3 ) The line you placed on the paper you will have doubled that line and now 1/8 of the circle is complete after you go over the line with your pencil.
4 ) Now you have doubled the line. Fold again and repeat the same process and complete the circle.

By the way, I have used my fingernail to transfer the image from one section of the tracing paper to the next section when  fold the tracing paper.

Now below you see the perfect circle drawn by hand with any compass or circle temple being used from beginning to end. Only the brain, eye and hand using common sense. Oh! Yes, and tracing paper.
We can talk about transferring images using this method later in the tutorial.
Have fun and you will be surprised at what you can do.

Now we move on to how to make the shape in the design.

Working with Lord Jasper May

Lord Jasper and I are here talking about the market that he is working in and that market is very conservative. The simplicity of lines is very important because the English client is not apt to be very dynamic. It doesn’t mean that they are out od step with the world but actually prefer that the do their own thing. So needless to say we try to keep it on track and below are a few examples of that conservative styling. Please take the time to listen to Lord Jasper and I as we chat about what we do and how it works.

DESIGNING with THE LINE - The Basics - STRAIGHT LINE, "V" LINE, CURVED LINE, & "S" LINE

DESIGNING with THE LINE The Basics STRAIGHT LINE, "V" LINE, CURVED LINE, & "S" LINE This start up tutorial on the line is going to be presented in the bracelet format. The photos attached to this segment are a step by step presentation on how to state layout of the simple linked bracelets in its many forms. Using your imagination will expand once you understand the concept of the bracelet layout. Here are the simple lines we will follow. This explanation of the bracelet layout is in a simple one line form. Lets make the master line first that the bracelet links will be laid out on. Below is the line we will use. Note the dots at each end. The measurement is 190mm long from the dot at the top to the dot at the bottom. I have also marked the center by folding the tracing paper in the middle of the line. Next, let's look at the lines we will be placing on this 190mm long line. The 4 short layouts were drawn out ...

DESIGNING with THE LINE - The Pendant - STRAIGHT LINE, "V" LINE, CURVED LINE, & "S" LINE

DESIGNING with THE Pendant - The Curved Line - STRAIGHT LINE, "V" LINE, CURVED LINE, & "S" LINE   As you see from the previous page, the S shape was not quite right and balance. Now we are looking from the different perspectives "The Pendant" Here are the four basic shapes. How do you feel about them ? Do they seem to work as pendants. In my opinion the answer is yes ; and the range of design will be show in Illustrator path formate. Remember these are all basic concepts and are simple presented to help you understand jewelry in its basic form. The Design Sideview The differing side views can make these simple pendants very interesting. Later diamonds will be added and I will do a pencil shading exercise and a full rendering in color of each style. The side views will help the model maker to see clearer about how the design needs to be done. Note above the side views they are numbered 1 thru 3 with the front ...
